Welcome to one of the most important journeys of your life, and congratulations on deciding to take the first step of that journey. My role is to work with you to use your own strengths to make the changes that you desire in your life. My journey to becoming a counselor began with a personal crisis in my own life. I have walked your path and want to support you in your current journey, wherever you may be along that path.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and an Affiliate Sex Offender Treatment Provider in Houston, Texas.
My journey to becoming a counselor began with a personal health crisis which lead me to my passion: forensic psychology. Living with chronic illness helps me focus on what is both doable and high priority. These experiences enable me to support others in trauma or distress. My demonstrated areas of expertise include psychological assessment and diagnosis, treatment of sex offenders, trauma resolution, crisis intervention, suicidal ideation and self-harm, depression, neurocognitive disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
I have worked in private practice as an affiliate sex offender treatment provider with both adults and juveniles. I have also worked in county and state facilities treating incarcerated patients for mental health issues and has experience with both individual and group counseling.
I utilizes evidence-based treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy and narrative therapy. I welcome clients regardless of their current circumstances or past histories with an open mind and open heart.
I earned her Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2014.
