  • Summer Heart, Graduate Student

Supervised by Jenai Tidwell, LPC Supervisor

Summer Heart is a graduate student in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy at Lamar University. She is dedicated to walking alongside individuals, adolescents, couples, and families as they navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, trauma, and relationship concerns. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Summer is passionate about creating a safe and affirming space where all clients feel seen, heard, and valued.

Her approach is collaborative and centered on each client’s strengths, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, family systems theory, and mindfulness-based strategies. During her internship, Summer will also be expanding her skills with training in EMDR, play therapy, and other evidence-based approaches.

Summer’s work is deeply shaped by her time volunteering as a crisis counselor and her current role as a Crisis Response Advocate with the Houston Area Women’s Center, where she supports survivors of sexual trauma and domestic violence. She believes healing begins with a trusting relationship and is honored to join clients in their journey toward growth and hope.
