Myth Buster: Mental Healthcare Doesn’t Have to be Expensive!

Mental healthcare is a fundamental right, not a luxury. As a private practice owner, I’ve dedicated my career to breaking down the financial barriers that too often prevent individuals from accessing the support they desperately need. It’s a passion that stems from a deep-seated belief: money should never be the obstacle to taking care of yourself.
I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact that accessible mental healthcare can have on individuals, families, and communities. That’s why one of the pillars of this practice is to create a space where affordability and quality care could coexist. We’ve built a model designed to cater to diverse financial situations, because everyone deserves the opportunity to heal and thrive.
One of the cornerstones of our commitment to accessibility is our tiered pricing structure. We understand that out-of-pocket costs can be a significant burden, which is why we offer sessions as low as $30 with our incredibly talented graduate-level interns. These clinicians are bright, compassionate, and excited about their work, bringing fresh perspectives and evidence-based approaches to their sessions, all under the close supervision of experienced, licensed professionals. This isn’t “discounted” care; it’s an investment in the future of our profession and a crucial pathway to affordable services.
For those seeking an intermediate option, our LPC Associates offer sessions at $60. These are clinicians who have completed their graduate degrees and are well on their way to full licensure, accumulating supervised hours and honing their skills. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, offering a high level of care at a significantly reduced rate compared to fully licensed therapists.
Beyond these reduced-cost options, we are proud to accept most major insurance plans and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). Navigating the world of insurance can be daunting, and our team is always here to help you understand your benefits and make the most of your coverage. We firmly believe that utilizing your insurance or EAP is a smart and practical way to prioritize your mental well-being without undue financial strain.
My commitment to expanding accessibility doesn’t stop there. I am constantly exploring new avenues to partner with additional EAP programs and insurance providers. The more networks we join, the more individuals we can reach, and the closer we get to fulfilling our mission. It’s an ongoing effort, a continuous journey to ensure that no one is left behind due to financial limitations. For a full list of the insurances and EAP we accept, click here.
Your mental health is an investment, not an expense. It impacts every facet of your life – your relationships, your career, your physical well-being, and your overall happiness. Postponing care due to financial concerns can lead to greater challenges down the road.
I want you to know that there are options. There are practices, like ours, that are genuinely dedicated to making mental healthcare attainable for everyone. Don’t let the fear of cost prevent you from taking that crucial first step towards healing and growth. Reach out, ask questions, and let’s work together to find a solution that fits your needs. Your well-being is worth it.
